chapter is run by a collective of artists, producers, and thinkers working across visual art, engineering, urban regeneration, placemaking, and anthropological enquiry. We bring these disciplines together to make contemporary art experiences—practical, considered, and public-facing.
At chapter, we're interested in what happens when roles blur and different kinds of knowledge collide: artist and organiser, maker and facilitator, researcher and host.
We are open to taking thoughtful risks and working collaboratively, while being fiercely determined to enjoy the journey.

chapter is Ryan McDade, Felix Reid, Daniel Clifford, Fran McDade and Jamie Grohman.
Daniel Clifford is an artist, cultural producer, and creative lead operating at the intersection of contemporary art, public space, and the built environment. He leads with an artist's instinct—backed by a fluency in translating ambitious ideas into resolved, built outcomes.
As a former Principal at Urban Art Projects (UAP), Clifford delivered major international commissions from Brisbane and Shanghai, working with leading contemporary artists to realise technically complex, materially exacting artworks. His strength lies in closing the gap between concept and reality—holding onto the integrity of an idea while driving it through the demands of fabrication, budget, and site.
Jamie Grohman is a creative producer and maker interested in the convergence of commerce, culture and craft. Creatively, they are interested in material dynamics, coachbuilding and built environments. Commercially, Jamie centres unconventional partnerships, alternate operational and funding models, and quaint conversations over coffee.
Felix Reid is a cultural professional working at the intersection of institutions and audiences. Through public programming, writing and curation, Felix seeks to break down barriers to engagement with art and culture. Their practice is informed by curiosity and critical enquiry into the structures that influence gallery environments.
Fran McDade is a co-founder of chapter and with her engineering background offers a unique perspective to the running of an art space. Fran occasionally paints and makes ceramics.
Ryan McDade is a co-founder of chapter. With an international background in urban regeneration and development, Ryan has a deep understanding of the role art can play in people's experience of life and their surroundings. Alongside this, he has developed his own art practice which encompasses a range of creative outlets.
chapter acknowledges the Turrbal and Jagera/Yuggera peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our studio and art gallery stands. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture, and we extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
